We live in an area rich with breathtaking rivers, streams, hills and valleys. The Rock River and its vast tributary system thread their way through our landscape, enriching our land and our lives.
Our water ways are a distinctive part of our region, impacting wildlife, recreation, business and development. But they are not always treated with respect. Pollution collected from stormdrains through out the region flows directly into the river system. This untreated water from rain, runoff and snow melt from surrounding communities pollutes the Rock River and its tributaries. It is our responsibility to protect the land and waters where we live by preventing fertilizers, chemicals and waste from washing into our waters.

Clean Water. Bright Future. is a partnership of 16 cities, towns and organizations dedicated to improving our communities by keeping local waterways clean. Because rain falls on every house, business, park and community, we all share the responsibility for preventing pollution from washing through stormdrains into our waters. Together, we can keep the Rock River Basin’s lakes, rivers and streams clear and ensure a bright, healthy future for generations to come.
